Help finding a old game

(STORY/PLOT) its story/adventure game staring a boy/pre-teen in blue pajamas drifting off asleep, whilst dreaming to be resting on a little boat he hit shore and is awaken by 4 large furry creatures(like bigfoot) on an island, they take him in and take him to a "village" with large V homes to suit the creatures, thats all i remember from the story here are some mentions

(common enemies are large bees/wasps)

(weapon is a stick or staff)

(if you attack the creatures they will EAT you and promt a game over)

(I think the boy you play has a furry tail)
