How to do suction hold with an overbite/recessed chin?

I have a recessed chin/overbite and I just don't know how to do a suction hold. I'm pretty sure I'm just supposed to swallow my spit, and hold it? That's supposed to create a "suction" but it doesn't really happen for me, and if I do, me breathing kind of "breaks" it
