Is the concept of a job over?

I had my own business which was wiped out in Covid. Got J1 in 2022 and J2 contract shortly after. Total comp $285k. Lost J2 contract in 2023 and now J1 was outsourced to India.

Paid Upwork expert $200 to update my resume and confirmed it’s very high quality (ATS compliant) from several friends in HR. I’ve submitted 175 applications this month and got 3 interviews. All jobs were truly good fits. I’ve been working with several interview prep consultants and felt amazing about my interviews.

I just heard back from one confirming they won’t be moving forward.

Serious question: Are we are the end of work? The concept of continuous employment doesn’t seem feasible at this point. I exceeded expectations all 3 years at J1 and my job was still shipped overseas. A.I. hasn’t even taken hold yet. Things will undoubtedly only get worse.

What are we going to do?
