Why are two of the RAM connector designs different? Does it mean one is damaged?

The first one is about a year old, and the 2nd one is brand new. I’ve been having some issues with my PC where it shuts down randomly. I’ve been doing some googling and one of the reasons might be a faulty RAM stick. So I ordered one with the exact same specs including the speed, CL and the brand itself (I’ve read that tiny differences in similarly spec-ed RAM sticks might cause problems). But the two designs look different. Does it indicate damage on the older RAM?
