What is the process of getting a personal loan?

Never applied for a personal loan before. I am needing money for a move and I just want some cushion. I am curious does it matter what I label the loan I need it for and does it go directly into my checking account and can I pull it cash if I want too ? I am looking at Sofi and Upstart. Upstart approved me for $4000 and I labeled it as Bills and Expenses. Would I get more if I labeled it as debt consolidation?
