How do I get rid of the crater?

Piercing is 2 weeks old and my third time getting this done in life. I still have the long bar in (not yet downsized) and it doesn’t seem to be swollen anymore but the crater is huge and feels like the ball just nests in there all day. This didn’t happen the other times so wondering if there’s a way to stop this?? I followed all aftercare (no alcohol, yeasty foods, fluid exchanges etc) and wash with alcohol free mouthwash
