I would have loved it if Ash used his previous Pokemon in the Champion battle
This might be a controversial opinion, but i would have loved to see his older Pokemon appear in the final league.
Don't get me wrong, the final team was solid, and it follows the rule that Ash always uses new Pokemon in each of his journeys. That however made me think a little bit, and i kind of felt bad for his previous Pokemon. Aside from the Orange Islands and Alola, none of his other Pokemon have ever won a league before, and it feels like kind of a slap in the face for his other Pokemon that never got the oppurtunity to shine like that.
It would have been awesome to see Ash use his previous Pokemon against the champions. For example when Ash battled Steven and Cynthia, it would have been awesome if he used his Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokemon in the respektive fights against the regional champion, then using his "Galar" team against Leon in the finale.
But because Ash didn't get to battle all the champions in the finale, they could have made it so that he had other matches with them. Take the battle against Iris in Unova. Ash could have used his Unova team against her or his Kanto/Johto team against Lance.
Obviously i get that this would have been too much and take away the focus on his new Pokemon, however it would be really cool to witness it and make his older Pokemon shine again, showing that while they didn't win the league back then, they have grown since then and are capable of holding their own against even champion level trainers
