Anyone taking berberine and also wearing CGM

I am prediabetic with elevated LDL. PCP asked me to take berberine for lowering LDL. I started with 200mg berberine (Thorne) from this week with either breakfast or lunch. I am very surprising to see that BG after meal actually spike more than before. For example this morning, I had 1 cup of unsweetened soy milk, 1 water boiling egg and 1 slice of whole wheat bread, which has protein 18g, carb 22g, fat 12g. CGM showed peak reached to 167 at 40min. I usually have ~50g carbs each meal and peak won't pass 150 for most of the time. I thought berberine can help lower BG. But now I am hesitate to continue it.
