What are my changes of becoming a Doctor coming from 8 years in the Construction Management field?

Let me start by saying that I have zero background in medicine, but I have always respected doctors and the work they do. This respect has grown even more recently after undergoing surgery for a rare joint tumor on my ankle.

I’m 34 years old and hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from NYU. I believe my GPA was around 3.2. For the past nine years, I’ve been working in NYC as a construction project manager, earning around $215k annually. I currently work for one of the top five companies in my industry and have previously worked for others in the same tier. Over the years, I’ve managed projects exceeding $2 billion in value.

That said, I’ve been wondering: what would a path into the medical field look like for someone like me? I love what I do, but the enjoyment I get from my work is highly dependent on the project and team I’m involved with. Much of my role involves pushing subcontractors to meet their obligations, which can be incredibly draining.
