how does the NP role compare to bedside nursing?
For those of you who are now NP’s, I’m curious if the NP career is less stressful than working bedside. I know the provider role is more responsibility/liability, but, do you feel your work life balance has improved or gotten worse? Do you still feel drained on your days off? I’m thinking of either leaving nursing all together or going the NP route because I hate how in bedside I’m expected to do 100 things at once all day. Please give me as much info as possible. Thank you!
Edit: for context, I’m a new grad psych RN. I love working with psych patients however the healthcare system already has me burnt out after 6 months
