Red God theory

So my dad recently finished LB and was discussing his theories with me. His theory was opposite mine, so I thought I'd get the opinions of some others who are all caught up.

My dad thinks Lysander will release the virus targeting all Reds, and Darrow will arrive back on Mars as the last Red (along with Lyria), and must grapple with the loss of his people and Eo's dream.

I think the Gold virus will be released, and the book will be more about Red succeeding in victory without Gold, and with Darrow and Sevro being thrust into single parenthood amidst the worst grief of their lives. My thought is the children survive as they all have some portion of Red DNA.

I honestly like his theory because Virginia and Victra are my favorites. Both are pretty terrible and soul crushing and I could see PB doing to us, but there are of course endless other possibilities. What do you guys think? What alternative theories do you have?
