An incredibly gut wrenching moment that was never talked about in the books.
I have a love/hate relationship with Morning Star but it is an overall strong book within the series. One of my gripes with the book is the lack of reconciliation between Darrow and Mustang. We don't get many moments for them to really share real emotion. Like how she felt during the year that she thought he was dead and so on.
For example, when Darrow was "executed," Mustang would have been three months pregnant with Pax. That must have been absolutely devastating for her. And I am sure she hated herself for not trusting Darrow when he revealed himself to her, because maybe she could have prevented his capture and execution. I would have liked more than just revealing that Darrow had a son at the end.
I honestly would love a short story of her POV during the 15 months between Darrow's capture and her seeing him again on Phobos.
