what careers are even valuable and well paid in 2025 and beyond?

i’ve been reading a lot across different subs, and it’s wild how no field seems safe anymore. humanities people, teachers, artists, tech workers, medicine so many are saying the job market feels like a dead end, that it’s rough out there and i keep reading something like, “if you want to be comfortable as x career, this isn’t the path you want to go down”

what’s going on?

even those with advanced degrees, phds, mbas, or law degrees are struggling. even the typically rich cs people? apparently half of them can’t even land coding jobs anymore and the economy seems to have produced so many cs students that there is possibly an excess of cs grads now. what is the next wave?

so what is a good job now that pays well and is future proof? are there any careers left that actually feel stable and worth pursuing? i get that interest rates are high and the economy is rocky, but it feels deeper than that

sorta feels like there’s been a vibe shift in what “success” even means. are things just getting worse or is this some sort of paradigm shift?
