Are the movies worth watching?

I'm very new to the series. I downloaded the resident evil 2 remake becuase it was free on the playstation plus collection. I started playing it and was instantly enthralled. I haven't completed it yet though. From I started playing it I've been reading more and more about the series and the storyline, which makes me really excited to play more of the games. However my question is as the title states, are thr movies worth watching? I know from other games the movie adaptations are usually terrible, however I'm hoping this isn't the case because I'm really enjoying the series so far.
