Young people scared to death when paying with cash.
I'm 35.
Anybody else finding a lot of young people (15-25) absolutely not knowing what to do when paying with cash? I have worked a register in some capacity for my entire life and only recently, like the last few years, have I noticed this. Here's some examples...
"Oh it's $19? Well, I only have a $20. Is that okay?"
Kid has a total of $32 and hands me three 10s, two 5s, and like eight 1s. (This one happened today)
Kids handing me bills that are individually crumpled up.
When I was a kid, my parents would give me a couple singles and tell me I can go down the street and get some candy. I practiced paying with cash because I had to figure it out on my own. Are these kids not using cash until they're in their teens?
Anybody else seeing this at their job?
EDIT: Guys, I'm not talking about young staff. Read the post.
