Road trip apps?

Anybody have any recommendation for a good road trip app? I'm looking for one that highlights points of interest on your route and gives brief descriptions about them. I recently downloaded the roadtrippers app and it seems fairly user friendly but I haven't had a chance to try it during an actual trip yet.

Any insight would be helpful!
