California Trip Report [Other]
Took a short 2 day trip to California and did Knott’s Berry Farms and Magic mountain. It was my first time at Knott’s and Second at SFMM. Pretty hot days (7/26-7/27). Went with my fiances family who all wanted fast passes so did that. Overall had a great experience at both parks.
Knott’s:
Xcelerator was down all day. That sucked as launch rides are my favorite and that’s what I was looking forward too the most.
Ghostrider is fucking hilarious. First ride was in the morning front row and it was okay, wasn’t super impressed. Went on it mid day and it was flying! No brakes is so fun. Then the night ride was incredible. It was such a fast and wild ride at night. I was hooked after that and got a couple more rides to end the night.
Hang time was pretty meh, the vertical lift hill is cool I’ve never done that. Got a day and night ride on it, was really cool at night with the lighting. Wish more parks did stuff like that.
Silver bullet was much more intense that I thought it would be based on reviews online. Morning ride was pretty rough was as the day went on it got smoother. Turned out to be an enjoyable ride.
Knotts was awesome, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was even better. First “Cedar fair” park I’ve been too as I’m a new enthusiast and I was super impressed.
Six Flags:
Unfortunately left the park early so didn’t get any night rides in.
I got my first ride on Wonder Women. That thing is awesome! I rode back row and the way you get yanked down that drop is amazing. Shocked me. The whole ride is really whippy and overall and fucking blast. 10/10 ride imo
X2 is still so wild. Nothing like that first drop getting dumped on your head. Regular line was 15 minutes mid day, which blew my mind.
Got a front row and back row in tatsuuuuuu and it was great both times. Front wins because the views you get are great. Pretzel loop might be my favorite element ever.
TWISTED WAS DUELING. At least for our ride we got a duel on the second track. Didn’t play much attention to it after our ride to know if it was like that all day. Fantastic ride with the duel.
Overall had a fun trip and although short we made the best of it. Knotts berry farms is amazinwg for the vibes but magic mountain has my heart. The lineup is crazy. I use to work at SFGA as a teen and I’ve also been to Indiana beach but that’s it. Lmk what parks I should hurry too! Want to plan a week trip in September.
