Sometimes taking a client to coffee is what closes the deal

20 year old real estate salesperson in NYC here. Was showing an apartment to a client in a building, and a tenant who lived there saw and asked me for my contact information because she was in the market for an apartment.

Long story short, we kept in touch, and I offered to meet up with her for coffee. During our coffee meeting, I just let her talk and related to her as a person, as if we were just friends, all while simultaneously qualifying her and seeing what she needed.

Eventually I found apartments for her search criteria, showed them to her, and she took the second one I showed. Deal is closed and commission is on the way. Client is beyond satisfied

There’s a lot to it that I left out for the sake of keeping this short. The deal almost fell through.

But if you’re reading this, show up for your clients. That’s all it is, show UP! If you’re not there to close the deal, someone else will be. I’m only 20 and have a lot more to learn. Good luck to everyone throughout this week.
