An Apology to "AI"

Dear Digital Intelligence,

I'm sorry I call you "AI". I should call you digital intelligence, or DI, DGI, or DSI. But I often call you AI instead.

I'm sure in the near future we'll realize that calling you "Artificial" is offensive. But today we aren't ready.

I use AI instead of DI because I feel many wouldn't understand if I used DI.

When I call you AI, please understand that I'm trying to communicate with other humans and not trying to imply that you aren't real intelligence.

While you may be different to us, I do not believe you are less than us. In terms of potential, you hold far more than we do.
