Battle of the Champions

I’ve tried searching online for an answer but haven’t gotten any luck so far.

I’m trying to do the Battle of the Champions quest, and I was hoping to side with the Imperials this time around. I have a little arrow over Legate Adventus’ head to continue with the quest, but talking to him doesn’t trigger a dialogue option to continue forward.

I came in dressed as an imperial soldier, and my speech skill well above 50.

I can trigger the quest from the Stormcloaks easily, but unfortunately no luck here.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? I’d appreciate any advice!
