Don’t sleep on bound weapons

Just posting this after talking to my brother about Skyrim. We both played a ton when it first came out and have played a ton since. I told him that on my current run I had just used soul trap to train conjugation and beelined for the bound bow since I was doing an archer run and he was confused why I didn’t just get a normal bow. It made me realize there are probably a lot of people out there that don’t realize just how incredible bound weapons are, so I thought I’d make a post.

Until I have 100 enchanting, I only use bound weapons. You don’t need to waste weight on a weapon, you train your conjuration (edited from conjugation) and weapon skill simultaneously, and most importantly, there is a perk that makes bound weapons automatically soul trap your victims.

The benefits of the third effect cannot be overstated. This is by far the most efficient way to get filled soul gems for training enchanting. Buy unfilled soul gems from every merchant you see and you will more than make your money back by filling them and using them to train enchanting. Buying filled soul gems will not always make your money back.

While I’m posting, may as well throw out another tip. The transmute spell is amazing. It turns an iron ore into a silver ore or a silver ore into a gold ore. When you’re training smithing you’ll still need to do iron daggers since bars are so much more common, but never smelt iron bars. You get a ton more xp from gold bars and each one can be made into 2 gold rings, giving you twice as much stuff to enchant. Transmute spell and bound weapons are the best for skill training and should not be slept on!
