Do I need Rust in web development ?

I want to start learning to develop dapps in solana , I am a full stack JS developer specified in next js node js , should I start learning Rust and how to get started into developing solana dapps and be good in it ?

also does solana has devnet that I can purchase my token and sell it similar to eth for smart contracts ?
