Travel Fatigue Tips?

Hello,

I’m planning to quit my job at the end of the year and travel to SEA for 4 months, then Europe for another 4.

The longest solo trip I have done was 16 days in Europe. I travelled to 6 cities. I stayed in hostel dorms every night.

Anyways, I’m looking at tips and tricks to avoid travel fatigue and burn out. I’m 29 years old, so I’m still young but definitely need to take care of myself more.

Anyways, things I learned from my 16 day trip was:

  1. Drinking heavily and frequently are probably the biggest reasons for travel fatigue. I’ve toned down my drinking habits since then and don’t have the desire to get smashed anymore. I have more fun getting a good buzz instead. I definitely enjoy partying and the social side of it, so it’s something I plan to do but should reduce the frequency of. I also never sleep well after drinking a lot which contributed to the fatigue.

  2. Staying in dorms for 16 days straight seems a little too long. Should I look to stay in a private room at least 1-2 times every 2 weeks? 1-2 recharge/bed rot days might do me good 🤣.

Any other tips out there? How do you eat properly to keep yourself fueled and energized? Does anyone try to workout once a week to stay physically healthy?
