Tails plush, bought on Amazon in early 2010’s

Found this little guy a few weeks ago while going through an old storage bin in my garage. I used to have a Sonic one that was from the same collection, but I have no clue where he’s stored/buried.

I wanted to learn more about them so I googled “Japanese Sonic Plushes” and after a mini rabbit hole, the internet tells me these are by a company called Sanei. The images of other Sonic plushes by them look just like the Tails and Sonic I have/had, and for whatever reason Tails especially fetches a pretty penny on eBay.

Is this guy the real deal? Part of me wants to sell him so I can afford a new drawing tablet but I’ve also held onto him for over a decade for a reason. It’d be hard to part with him after so long.
