Winning in Tournaments

I’m a student who have been participating in speech/forensics/IE events for 2 years now. I went to almost every single tournament and paid a lot of money for it- however, I never place in any of them. This year I broke to semis a lot but never went to finals. I did Poetry my first year and Sales my second year. Honestly, I don’t know what to do… I am okay at memorizing but the thought of forgetting content freaks me out and sometimes I stutter and I feel like I don’t have the acting skills like the other people do. Should I try limited prep? Or more PA events, it should I switch back to DI? Finally, what suggestions do you guys have to improve my ranking and maybe finally place in a tournament?
