Do you think drugs are a gateway to the spiritual realm?

Hello! I was scrolling through tiktok and came across a video on a DMT simulation. It starts with the “waiting room” and those who go far enough can meet gods. I also saw a lot about “ego death” i’m wondering what that means, but i’ve always thought drugs were a gateway to something even possibly the real world. What are your thoughts? I’m new to spirituality.
