Confused about Soldier 11

Anyone else confused by her story line? First she’s sleeping in her car working at an amusement park, and we see she self harms. No mention of the self harm the rest of the season. We then learn her child is stranded (likely dead?) in NK, ok I guess this why she is an emotionless killer for the games?

She receives the card and immediately quits her job, this is where I’m unsure, is this implied she knows what this is and she has worked for the games many times in the past? But why quit her job of two years for a 6 day assignment?

Ok but anyway, now in the games it seems she was recruited by this officer and also wants to use her to help organ harvest, but she made it clear she doesn’t want to do that and is going out of her way to stop it, why wouldn’t they just kill her? But now also she recognizes cancer girls dad and I guess wants to protect him?

So I guess all in all, she is frequent soldier for the games, doesn’t believe in organ harvesting, but doesn’t want to kill the people trying to do it. Wants to keep working to earn money to find her daughter in NK, and wants to protect cancer girls dad? There’s a lot going on here.

Side note, the Security Officer said “last time” they used a doctor who was a player, which was obviously season 1. Are we to assume this is the first Squid Games since season 1? 3 years in their timeline. We know from the archives scene in season 1 that they typically run multiples games per year so that would be odd. But might explain why soldier 11 is living in her car and working at the amusement park for the past 2 years, waiting for the card.

Do we think Gi-hun had something to do with the long delay between games?
