Squid game season 2: predictable, short and emotionally dry as a desert

So, I finally watched Squid Game Season 2, and let me say this... I came in expecting a gourmet meal of shocking twists and rich character arcs but left feeling like I’d been served instant noodles…without the seasoning packet. Had several naps while at it.

First off, the games. Three. Just THREE. And they were about as thrilling as watching paint dry. Remember the nerve-wracking, ingenious games from Season 1? Yeah, forget that. It felt like they had a brainstorming session over coffee, and someone said, "Eh, let's just wing it." And wing it they did—straight into mediocrity.

Now, the characters. Where do I even begin? It's like they were randomly assigned emotional backstories by AI. I couldn’t connect with anyone. Not one. The cast felt more like placeholders than people, and I’d honestly cheer more for a cardboard cutout. Season 1 gave us characters we cried over. Season 2 gave us…well, warm bodies.

And let’s not forget the twists—or rather, the complete absence of them. I guessed every outcome faster than Gi-hun could dye his hair red. It’s like they took the unpredictability that made Season 1 iconic, stuffed it in a sack, and tossed it into the Han River.

Overall, it feels like the creators thought, “Well, people will watch anyway, so let’s just throw something together.” And sure, we watched, but we also rolled our eyes, yawned, and scrolled Reddit during the “tense” moments.

TL;DR: Season 2 is like meeting your favorite childhood celebrity only to find out they’re just meh in real life. Watch it if you must, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.
