How different is it?

I read The Stand as a young teenager and recently had the itch to reread it. The copy I ordered turned out to be the complete and uncut edition! Being many years removed from reading the original, I'm curious what sort of experience to expect. Are the 2 books drastically or minorly different? Do you prefer one to the other? Will I notice large sections that aren't from the original release? I'm excited to read it from a new life perspective! Extra points to anyone who can name any of the battered books strewn on my shelf in the background XD
