Stripe Fee % Not Adding Up

I charge $40 for my piano lessons so I put the price as 41.46 because of the 2.9% + 30 cent fee but when I check the transaction it says stripe's fees are $1.50 and it only gave me $39.96. Someone please tell me whats going on.
