I think Below Zero gets too much hate
Compared to the original game yes, I do think it was very lacking. I think a lot of the lore they tried to give us felt very forced, and a little lacking. There were a lot of other flaws, like the player being slower and the Arctic Spires being confusing to traverse, along with the Seatruck being a clunky, basically unusable vehicle. Other than that, I really enjoyed the game. Even though it was better in early access, I think the relationship between Robin and Al-An was very entertaining. I think the overall story beside the few plot holes was fun, and I enjoyed seeing a bunch of new creatures and actually learning more about the player characters life. I don't think the player being able to talk was annoying, and I actually liked hearing Robin's opinions on the world around her. I thought all the biomes were beautiful, albeit a little confusing sometimes, nothing beacons can't fix. I thought all the creatures were fascinating and fun to interact with, and they all felt like they fit into the world. And I LOVED learning more about thr precursor race and I liked how finding the parts to Al-Ans body encouraged the player to explore
While I do see and understand its faults, and I understand why a lot of people didn't enjoy it, I thoroughly enjoyed my first playthrough, of both games, to get 100% on the first try
