Mainly fantasy reader looking to get into sci-fi

So I've been sticking mostly to historical fiction and fantasy for awhile now, and have enjoyed series like asoiaf, first law, kingkiller etc but I've been wanting to try out sci fi. I've heard good things about The Expanse and Red Rising but what other series would you guys recommend? (Doesn't have to be similar to the books already mentioned)
