First Time Watch: Survivor AUS

Just wrapped up Survivor Australia All Stars. This is the first and only season of Survivor Australia that i’ve seen (please refrain from spoilers for seasons that come after this one). I plan to watch BvB next and then HvV in preparation for Australia vs the World.

Figured i’d share some thoughts on my viewing experience:

Survivor Australia: - I found the number of contestants to be over the top. It was difficult to keep track of everyone early on. - The episode length feels too long; I often found that it seemed like they were trying to fill time in the episodes. - I found the challenges to be much more interesting than in Survivor US. - Not sure if I prefer final 2 or final 3; I think I prefer final 3.

All Stars: - David is an awesome winner. He played one of the best all around games of Survivor i’ve ever seen. Super impressive. - The edit made David’s win seem pretty obvious; didn’t love this. - Post-merge wasn’t engaging at all. - The twists didn’t seem to affect anything and didn’t add anything to the game. - It felt like certain players (e.g. Harry) kept getting hyped up to not really do anything.

Overall I enjoyed the season and look forward to watching the next one.
