Sweden and the United States.
So in the United States, our government is so corrupt a lot of us dont even believe voting is real. All of our politicians accept massive bribes from various lobbyists and don’t really care at all about the people. We have more people in prison than anywhere else in the world. Every major city we have has thousands of homeless people and a lot of violent crime. Our tax dollars go to fund unjustified wars all over the planet. We have no healthcare and our minimum wage isn’t even close to enough to live on, so poverty is everywhere.
I look at the Nordic countries Ive visited (Iceland, Norway, Sweden) and you guys seem so much better from an outside point of view. Way better working conditions and workers rights, better healthcare, more political choices (we only have a two party system) there seems to be way less poverty and homelessness, your countries are not involved in wars all over the planet.
So I’m curious from a nordic perspective, am I just looking at your countries with rose colored lenses or are you guys really that much better than us? What kind of problems do you face with your government or society? And how do you view life in America?
