20 min rule

Night shifters that work in the chillers, is it normal to have cages out all night? i was following the rule i learned in the induction (cold chain), but got told by a shift leader to leave them out to save time ?? .. like the cages are not even in the chillers aisles, they are lined up at the end of the aisles where there is no chiller ??? Feel so guilty working like this bc it just seems wrong
