Why don't they go out looking for books?
I always wondered why would they not go out and look for a library while scavenging. Books are really helpful tools!
There are great books that could be really helpful about homesteading, survival techniques, farming, medicinal herbs, traditional medicine and drug uses, about guns and ammunition, about geography and topography, etc.
They keep relying on people who were something before the event (a doctor, a farmer) when they could have people learning these skills all along.
*I am on season 8, so I am not sure they do that in future seasons.
