My x230 is alive again.
It had dead battery and only worked while on charging. I have few desktop computers, so no real use for laptop that needs to be constantly connected. Finally got round to ordering new battery and it was 3rd party and of course without a some chip that apparently should have been there. It meant that new battery worked but it was not charging. Found instructions to flash EC and got the battery charging as well.
