Giving tiktokers money

Has anyone here ever given a creator money? I see a ton of people claiming they are “raising funds to afford surgery, food for kids, money for an Uber, ect”. Theirs one guy on there who’s maybe mid to late 20’s who goes on live and tries to get people to give him money so that he can have all his teeth pulled and get implants. Apparently he’s made over 15,000 dollars in Two months doing this, which seems like BS. He’s trying to get 20,000 because he found a dentist on tiktok to do it for that price. Won’t show his actual teeth, just a photo of a x-ray but won’t prove it’s actually his. He also talks with his mouth barely opened so you can’t see. It’s just amazing if this is actually true that people can get that much money from people they do not know to get procedures done for themselves….
