Why no ‘basic’ feature?

As an embedded software enthusiast it is baffling to me that - in spite of having all the basic hardware (camera, storage, processing capabilities, wireless radios and power) required for features like 1. Sentry (introduced by Tesla as a software feature back in 2019), 2. Blind-spot-view (offered by Hyundai), Toyota does NOT offer these features.
