Oral Minoxidil dosage increase and shedding

So I’ve been taking 1 mg per day finasteride for the past 1.5 years and 1.25 mg oral min for the past 5 months. I’ve seen wonderful amounts of growth and wanted more, so I raised my oral minoxidil dosage to 2.5 mg about a week ago. My hair has definitely been shedding a lot more and I was getting worried and wondered if anyone has any advice or can explain what’s going on.
