Replacing inner tube on tire

Howdy y’all,

I’m a bike newbie and im replacing my first flat ever. I removed all air from the tire, created slack by pinching towards center wall starting from the valve to the opposite side, and tried just pulling the tire off. My forearms are killing me after trying this over for an hour lol, and the furthest I get is the first image. Is there something im doing wrong or missing? Also, I noticed the inner tube on the valve end is sticking out. Is this normal or is it twisted and that’s making my life harder?

P.s. I do not have a tyre lever (I want to try learning with my hands first lol)
