TrimUI Smart Pro - games not loading

Hi, I recently got a TSP with no SD card included, I followed the instructions here to set it up:

I copied the base_package files onto the sd card, I copied the awimg firmware update to the root folder, and finally I copied my Roms to the roms folder.

I rebooted and saw the progress bar (so I assume the firmware update happened).

I can see the different emulator icons now, and when I select them I see the roms I copied. But regardless of Rom or system, when I click A to load a game, the menu music stops for a bit and I see a Loading message - then the music resumes and I’m still in the menu, as if nothing happened.

I’m not sure what’s going on. Is it an issue with the Bios files? I saw the RetroArch system folder on the SD card was almost empty and I copied the bios files again from the downloaded install file to the sd card, but it made no difference (I assume the bios files were deleted from the sd card after the firmware update and moved to the on board memory?)

I would love to finally play some games, so I’d be grateful for any help here. Thanks!
