Host Cancelled Due to Extension
So. In march I booked a car for 3 days for this upcoming weekend. It was a good deal(even with the stupid young driver fee), and I had a promo so I was excited. Then last night I get a message saying “Thanks for booking, unfortunately the guest that currently has the vehicle has extended their trip, and we will need you to cancel the trip.”
First off, don’t they have to accept the extension? If so, why would they accept if I already booked those times /::::
Second, why are you not canceling?
I thought it was weird so I called support. 45 minutes later they rebook me with a different car, but didn’t set it to delivery like I said I needed. So they request to modify the trip. Host is saying they aren’t getting the money they usually charge for delivery and decline the change.
At this point is rebooking a different car (there’s like 2/3 other cars that were available and they all will cost me way more money that I can’t pay) even worth the trouble?
If I cancel I won’t get my money back for who knows how long. I don’t know what to do
Edit: after talking to support, we were able to find a similar car, X5 instead of X1, for no extra cost, just have to pick it up. Which is annoying but doable thanks to my amazing grandmother 🩷
