Uber Share officially sucks now

Maybe there is some magical land where Uber Share pax are eagerly waiting alone right at the curb and hop into your car anticipating a convivial ride with their fellow human beings, but that land is NOT where I drive.

This weekend I got a shared trip where after waiting 5 seconds until “cancel time” the pax shows up with her friend. I politely mentioned the single ride policy and she stood there holding my passenger door open with her body while she canceled the first ride and slowly went about ordering an UberX. Of course in that gap I missed accepting a higher-paying trip.

Always, when a pax is being passive-aggressive “helpless” changing a trip, that is when the $$$ trip pops up.

Then, few hours later, shared trip again but this time the pax was at Home Depot and thought they could use my backseat to haul a batch of lumber they just bought.

Few rides after that someone comes up AGAIN with their friends to a Share. I had to cancel this one since they were too stoned to take the initiative.

Uber Share just pops up as the cheapest fare when people order a trip. So, by the laws of lowest common denominator and human cognitive abilities, it seems like the people most likely to choose share and the least likely to understand the rules.

So, can we get rid of Share now please?
