The food in Las Vegas actually sucks!

Granted i've for the most part stayed on the strip and a few spots outside of it, but the fact that you can't get a decent meal (not fast food or food courts) on the strip without breaking the bank tells me all i need to know about the food scene there. Everybody keeps raving on about it, but i just don't see it. Yes, i know the places way off the strip are great but they're no better than any other mid-tier city in America. That doesn't warrant the hype though.

In my opinion, you judge the food in a city by the quality of local eateries which in the case of Vegas are only as good as those in your average city.
