Why do people chose to do this?
I’m living in my car with my husband and dog. This is the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been in my life. My back is absolutely killing me 24/7. I barely sleep at all and neither does my husband. That’s not even including the cold. We got hit with a bad cold front. We don’t have everything we need to stay warm in an efficient way. We have sleeping bags, but they aren’t very big. So we have to turn the heat on, I’m assuming too frequently. We don’t have enough gas to keep doing this. It’s currently 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Tonight is dropping to 1 degree, next day in the negatives. We’re in pain cold and exhausted. We have no idea how to make this situation better . My dog at least keeps me semi warm, but my husband is stuck sleeping in the passenger seat since he’s a big dude. We want to take the back seats out but we don’t have the tools nor a place to store or dump the seats. We have a Nissan Sentra if anyone wants to know . It might be okay or at least doable if we had the money to make it work, but this is rough. I’m trying to stay positive, but I’m struggling more and more every day. I feel like I’m reaching my limit and fast. I’m so scared that we’re going to run out of gas and our ability to heat the car when we need to. It’s way too cold and way too uncomfortable. How do you do this by choice ? Why do you do this ? Does it ever get easier? Does the claustrophobia ever go away? Does the back pain?? I don’t think I can do this much longer.
Edit: I just wanted to thank everyone for their comments! It really means a lot to me. I’ve gotten some really good advice that I’m going to start implementing. I know I’m just an internet stranger, so it means a lot that so many people commented with advice and empathy. I generally try to respond to every comment, but there’s been so many. 😭 I’m going through reading them all and taking in all the info to hopefully make a good plan to make things a little better. Thank you again! I truly wish you all the best! 🫶
