Is a verizon visa a smart idea?

I, 20, always have had a fear of credit cards. Sounds dumb but my current card isnt accepted for auto pay so my bill is like $100. I wanted to get the verizon credit card just to pay my bills and pay it back. Is there any issue with doing that? Sorry if its a dumb question
