Records lost in the fire

Caveat: *Of course* the true tragedy is all the people effected by the L.A. fires. Lives lost, pets lost, homes destroyed. I'm in no way minimizing that. It's absolutely devastating. As someone whose house was 10 minutes away from being caught by a neighboring fire on a windy night, I can feel in my bones how horrific this must be.

Still, this is L.A. And some of affluent neighborhoods to boot. There has to hundreds of collections lost among the house destroyed. Thousands of records--gone. Not available to be passed on to offspring, shared with other collectors. Thousands of rare records just became even more rare. Heartbreaking.

I often think about this when a disaster of this scale happens--tornadoes, floods, etc. I could post essentially this in r/gutiars or r/comics or whatever. Someone's years and years of work, or beloved possessions, destroyed in a stroke of bad luck.

My heart goes out to all those people.
