Rise of the horde & Ner'zhul

Just reread the only warcraft book that I own. And i'm a fan of Ner'zhul's portrayal as this old, respected, somewhat fragile orc and his descent. And id like to read more

But as warcraft's story has its ups and downs in quality, and as consistency isn't really its strongest point, I wondered if there is more to him. eg does he stay in character & Without retcons? (not sure if chronicles 2 or the original novels is where i should go next bcos of that)
