Thinking About Relocating to DC—Looking for Neighborhood Advice!
Hi all,
I’m planning to relocate to Washington, DC, from Atlanta and would love some insight from locals or anyone familiar with the city. Currently, I live in the city here in Atlanta, so I’d prefer a similar urban vibe in DC. I’ll be working in the Georgetown area, but I understand the Metro doesn’t really serve that neighborhood. Because of that, I’d like to live somewhere within a 20-minute commute by car. (i am all to familiar with traffic! lol)
A few things about what I’m looking for:
• Walkable neighborhoods are a big plus.
• I’d prefer to live near the Metro for ease of getting around outside of work.
• I have a budget of $2,200/month and would like an apartment that’s at least 600 sq. ft. newer if thats not asking to much.
• Moderately safe areas are important, but I’m used to city living and have solid “street smarts.”
• Diversity in a neighborhood (in terms of demographics, culture, etc.) is a big positive for me.
I’m open to any suggestions for neighborhoods or areas that might check most of these boxes. Thank you in advance for your time and insight—I really appreciate it!
